The feared ZanuPF terror team has struck again as MDC Alliance youths went missing last night. The three females; Joanna Mamombe, Cecilia Chinembiri and Netsai Marova who earlier in the afternoon led a peaceful demonstration in the area of Warren Park in Harare. Sources close to the members told Dangwe News the the three were picked up by unknown men in unmarked cars.

This is not the first time the regime has resorted to kidnapping as last year Human Rights doctor Peter Magumbeyi was also kidnapped only to be dropped off in Nyabira an area outside Harare. Zimbabwe lawyers for Human rights have failed to locate the three as ZRP is said to be not aware of their arrests.

Zimbabwe is once again reminded of the tactics used by regime to suppress basic human rights. The three girls who are all in their 20s are the first victims for the year. A MDC Alliance youth executive member we reached out to said the kidnapping of the girls will only make Zimbabwe ungovernable. ‘We demand the return of the girls unharmed, if there is a case to answer let them be presented at a court of law. We all know what happened to Itai Dzamara, we are all affected and not safe until Zimbabwe is free from ZanuPF’.

A ZRP source we spoke to on condition of anonymity said it was likely the CIOs took them.’The kidnappings are all executed by a small group of CIOs that report directly to the President and Owen Ncube, this is way above normal Police officers like us and at most times we are not in control of the situation.’

The insider also said the majority of CIOs are against the kidnappings due to bad economic performance in the country. ‘The Mnangagwa government is pressed minin’ina (young brother) they will use every tool to stop any protest in the country, the real fear is Soldiers and Police joining the povo. For all we know the girls maybe undergoing torture and it is important for opposition to make more noise and the youths to take to the streets’.

As of last night Twitter and Facebook was abuzz as the hush tag #Bring back our girls was trending.
